April 4-6 – Key West Fishing Tournament Kick-Off with 15 targeted species and $5K in cash prizes for the heaviest dolphin, kingfish, cobia, blackfin tuna, mackerel, mutton snapper, wahoo, mangrove snapper and grunt.


April 13 – Taste of Key West brings the chance to taste mouthwatering samples from over 50 restaurants in Key West. Takes place at the Truman Waterfront benefitting AIDS Help Inc.


April 15-19 – The Final Sail is the last leg in the prestigious billfish tournament with more than half-million dollars as the prize.


April 17-26 – 33rd Annual Conch Republic Independence Celebration featuring bed races, parades and wacky parties all commemorating the forming of the Conch Republic. Why you ask? The Keys seceded from the US when the US Border Patrol road-blocked Overseas Highway and made residents and guests show their passports. This only lasted several minutes before surrendering to the Coast Guard but the motto says it all “We ceded where others failed” and calls itself “a sovereign state of mind seeking only to bring more humor, warmth and respect to a world in sore need of all three”.


April 18 – 2nd Annual Cow Key Channel Bridge Run – zany participants run the only zero K race across one of the shortest bridges in the Keys.


April 30-May 3 – Key West Paddleboard Classic with a 12-mile course circling Key West’s scenic mangroves. Open to standup paddleboards, prone boards, outrigger canoes, dory boats, surf skis and kayaks.

 

May 2 – Keystock Music Fest – Truman Waterfront hosts Grand Funk Railroad and other lower Keys favorites from 6-11PM.


May 6-10 – 20th Annual Key West Songwriter’s Festival with music from local and well-known artists held at small venues all around Key West.


May 14-17 – Key West Air, Land & Sea Poker Run – Enjoy up to 5 days of motoring, boating and flying fun in the Florida Keys. All vehicles on display at the Conch Republic Seafood Company on Friday & Saturday from 10AM-10PM.


May 22-25 – Sunset Celebration welcomes Tall Ships at Mallory Square.


May 22-23 –Dolphin Masters Invitational, headquartered at Conch Republic Seafood Company, where the highest combined weight of 3 dolphins wins top prize of more than $13K.


June 6 – VFW Fishing Tournament for the family with prizes for the heaviest fish by a lady angler and heaviest fish by a juvenile angler. Heaviest dolphin main prize worth $2500.


June 10-14 – Key West Pride is a 5-day celebration featuring films, dance parties, drag shows, bike tours, a street fair, pageants and a parade.


June 13 – Key West Island Swim/ Swim Around Key West – This race takes you on a 12.5 mile course from the Atlantic Ocean to the Gulf of Mexico. Long distance swimmers and relay teams can compete, with or without fins.


June 18-21 – Key West West African Festival – exploring the music and art of the area’s Afro-Caribbean culture.


June 19-21 – Key West Gator Club Dolphin Derby with a grand prize of $5000 for the largest aggregate weight in dolphin caught during the two day fishing event.

April 25 – 20th Annual Earth Day at Bahia Honda State Park. Enjoy live music, food and fun from 9AM-2PM.


June 5-7 – 22nd Annual Big Pine & Lower Keys Dolphin Tournament - Cash & prizes to the angler that catches the heaviest dolphin as well as rods & reels being awarded for the heaviest wahoo & tuna.

April 18 – 34th Annual 7-Mile Bridge Run with a field of 1500 traveling across the longest bridge in the Keys.


May 1-3 –Marathon Offshore Bull & Cow Dolphin Tournament – vie for a $10K first prize with anglers trying to catch the largest bull & cow combined. Other cash prizes for wahoo, tuna, tripletail, grouper and snapper.


May 3-6 – Tarponian Tournament – 3-evening tournament where teams have to catch tarpon with a different captain each evening.


May 16 – “Battle In The Bay” Dragon Boat Festival – this is high action racing and the only beach launch boat race of its kind. Race a nearly 400-meter course that runs parallel to Sombrero Beach. Free to watch and makes a great family day at the beach.


June 16-17 –The Dolphin & Blackfin Tuna Fun Fishing Tournament with prizes for anglers who catch the heaviest dolphin and additional prizes for the heaviest blackfin tuna and wahoo. Headquartered at Burdine’s Waterfront.

April 16 - Morada Way Art & Cultural District present Third Thursday Art Walk, showcasing national and local artisans’ fine arts, music and culinary masterpieces at Morada Way (MM81-82). Live music from 6PM-9PM with free admission.


April 17-19 - Redbone @ Large Sunrise/Sunset Tarpon Tournament, a popular event during the annual migration of the silver kings to Florida Keys waters. 


April 19 – 21st Annual Bay Jam – a music and art festival held at the amphitheater in Founders Park (MM87) next to the waters of the Florida Bay from midday-sunset and into the night.


April 24-26 – Islamorada Spring Classic – a family oriented boat tournament that targets 9 gulf & backcountry species. Trophies will be awarded and will include a junior release divisions for anglers up to age 10.


May 1-3 - Nick Sheahan Dolphin Rodeo to benefit community scholarships for students. Hosted at Tavernier Creek Marina with $25K going to the angler who catches a dolphin that beats the state record. Entry fee $150 adults, $35 kids


May 17-20 –Golden Fly Invitational Tarpon Tournament. Win this challenge by catching a tarpon that is at least 48” long and weighing 70lbs+ while using a tournament-furnished tippet not greater than 16-lb test.


May 21 - Morada Way Art & Cultural District present Third Thursday Art Walk, showcasing national and local artisans’ fine arts, music and culinary masterpieces at Morada Way (MM81-82). Live music from 6PM-9PM with free admission.


May 31 – June 5 - Don Hawley Tarpon Fly Tournament - the world’s top fly-rod anglers endure a 5-day test benefiting the Guides Trust Foundation that supports backcountry conservation programs.


June 12-13 – 3rd Annual Ladies Dolphin Tournament where ladies compete for the highest aggregate weight grand prize as well as for the largest fish. Presented by the Florida Elks Lodge in Tavernier and benefiting local Elks charities.


June 15-19 –Gold Cup Tarpon Tournament, founded by Ted Williams, pits 25 anglers against the silver king. Everyone is welcome with proceeds benefiting children’s charities in the Keys.


June 18 - Morada Way Art & Cultural District present Third Thursday Art Walk, showcasing national and local artisans’ fine arts, music and culinary masterpieces at Morada Way (MM81-82). Live music from 6PM-9PM with free admission.


June 26-27 – 5th Annual University of Miami Sports Hall of Fame Celebrity Dolphin Tournament. Fish with former Cane All-Stars to win cash prizes for the heaviest dolphin. Headquartered at Postcard Inn Beach Resort. Up to 4-angler teams to benefit Upper Keys Habitat for Humanity and The Miami Project to Cure Paralysis.

April 24-26 – The inaugural year of this fishing tournament, where 12 boats, 12 master chefs and 12 celebrities will hook up for over $500K in prizes. The target species will be sailfish, tuna, wahoo, dorado and kingfish.


May 14-17 - Annual Key Largo’s Original Music Fest  – 4 days of all kinds of music including pop, rock, blues, jazz and country, from both local and visiting musicians
