More Info Coming Soon!

Marathon, with its wide range of things to see and do, has been voted as the" Ideal Family Vacation Destination". Most of the activities revolve around their location between the warm aquamarine waters of the Gulf of Mexico and the deeper blue waters of the Atlantic Ocean.

Fishing is the main acitvity here with choices ranging from offshore to backcountry to reef and wreck. Choose a half day, three-quarters, all day or even night fishing and go home with snapper, tuna, wahoo, dolphin, tarpon among others. If fishing isn't your game, try diving and snorkeling the only living coral reef in North America with over 50 dive locations ranging from shallow to deep and even wreck sites. The sea here in this protected marine sanctuary is home to over 150 species of fish as well as over 50 species of coral that is sure to amaze newbies as well as the expereinced divers. And don't miss a chance to dive in a shark cage or swim with the dolphins.

The mangroves, found near the coastline, are part of a diverse ecosystem that is fun to explore by kayak. These forests provide nursery grounds for many young fish and mollusks as well as feeding grounds for snook, mangrove snapper, tarpon, red drum and permit. The branches of the mangroves serve as roosts for coastal and wading birds including the pelican, spoonbill, cormorant, herons and egrets and shelter for the crocodile, bald eagle and falcons. Look below the surface and see a myriad of sponges, anemones, corals, oysters, lobster and starfish.

There are also many beautiful parks and attractions to interest young and old alike such as Pigeon Key, home to the workers from Flagler's Railroad, Long Key State Park, with hiking, fishing and camping, Crane Point Museum with 63 acres of nature trails and a butterfly garden and, of course, the 7-Mile Bridge, famous for its part in the True Lies movie as well as James Bond's License to Kill. Beaches are not as prevalent in the keys but both Sombrero Beach and Curry Hammock State Park offer a beach with picnic areas and water access.
