Did You Know?

The name Marathon was derived from the railroad workers who worked night and day to complete the Florida East Coast Railroad. They often complained that the project was getting to be a real "marathon".

Abyss Dive Center

Hop aboard the Abyss Dive Center's 32' cruiser, equipped with a head and fresh water shower, and head out to one of over 50 locations on the nearby coral reef. Here you will find colorful, shallow reefs with a variety of marine life and coral formations which include Yellow Rocks, Delta Shoals or Sombrero Reef or head to the deeper reef sites like Sombrero ledge, The Gap or Shrimp Boat Reef where it reaches depths from 50-80 feet. If wreck diving is on the agenda, take a trip to Thunderbolt, a WWII cable layer and research vessel laying in 120' of water or The Barge and Adelaide Baker which lie a little more shallow water. Water and sodas are complimentary but remember to bring your own sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, towel and any snacks. Call for reservations on either their 8:30AM or 12:30PM trip.
