Smathers Beach

Relax on Key West's largest beach, a quiet stretch of beach with palms for shade and a great place to watch the sunrise if you are up or haven't gone to bed yet. This is a good place for beginning snorkelers as there is very little undertow and, if you are interested, volleyball games usually kick up in the afternoon. They have concessions where you can rent chairs, umbrellas, kayaks, windsurfers, paddleboards and jet skis. BEST BET is to get the Key West Beach Pass for a flat fee and have 1 parasail adventure and unlimited use of their other watercraft and beach toys for the day. There are also vendors parked on the street offering snacks & beverages. (You can even bring your own beer and wine as alcohol is allowed on most Key West beaches) Picnic tables and clean facilities on site. Note: Spring Break makes this beach a madhouse.
