Key West Seaplane Adventures (Fort Jefferson, Dry Tortugas)

A unique & memorable trip to the nation's only national sea park. This sea park is located 70 miles from Key West on a remote island in the Dry Tortugas. Here you will find one of the largest coastal forts ever built, Fort Jefferson. It is accessible only by boat or sea plane. Taking the sea plane is a bit more costly than the ferry but well worth the money. It will be a memorable trip believe me! Meet at the airport, climb aboard, everyone gets a window seat, and 45 minutes later you will be there. The plane flys low so that marine life such as sea turtles, sharks, rays, dolphins are clearly visible as well as shipwrecks. Not only will the flight get you there quickly, if you take the early morning or late afternoon excursions you will arrive before or just after the ferry with its 200 people. Nice way to have the island mostly to yourself. Once the pilot cruises in for the beach landing, you will have about 2-1/2 hours to tour the fort, snorkel the coral reef just off the beach, bird watch, swim or just plain relax. Bring your cameras, bathing suits, towels, sunscreen, water & wine or beer (it is allowed in National Parks) They will supply coolers, soft drinks and snorkel gear.
