Key Largo Hammocks State Botanical Site

A beautiful nature preserve that provides a great area for biking and hiking with over 6 miles of nature trails. This park is home to over 84 species of protected plants and animals including the American crocodile and provides many spots for birdwatching and photo ops. Take a self-guided hike with signs providing information about the ecosystem and wildlife or arrange for a guided walk through Pennekamp Park rangers. If you want to hike or bike the backcountry trails just pick-up a permit at Pennekamp Ranger Station. Picnicking is available across from the butterfly garden located about 1/4 mile down the boulevard. Open 8AM to sundown daily.
