Did You Know?

The largest storm to ever hit the Keys, Islamorada in particular, was on Labor Day 1935 where the winds exceeded 200 miles per hour and created a 17 foot tidal wave. A Hurricane monument is now erected @ MM81 to commemorate the hundreds killed.

Braza Lena Brazilian Steakhouse

Right smack dab in the middle of the Florida Keys is a real upscale authentic (No Suggestions), or Brazilian steak house. This is a place you want to come hungry as it is an "all you can eat" style of service. Relax with a Caipirinhas, the national cocktail of Brazil, then on to their enormous salad bar. The salad bar is filled with fish, shrimp, ceviches, cured meats, cheeses, steamed asparagus, merlot marinated mushrooms, pasta and all the other usuals. Next is their serving of 16 different kinds of grilled meats, carved tableside by your own gaucho. They offer bacon-wrapped filets and chicken, shrimp, pork tenderloin, Brazilian sausage and more. Staff is attentive and does well at remembering your favorites. They have a red/green plaque on your table that you turn when you want additional servings. And, by all means, ask if there is something you want, and they will bring it to you as quickly as possible. It is a wonderful experience and a definite choice for a special night out. Note: 18% gratuity is automatically added to your check.
