Did You Know?

The largest storm to ever hit the Keys, Islamorada in particular, was on Labor Day 1935 where the winds exceeded 200 miles per hour and created a 17 foot tidal wave. A Hurricane monument is now erected @ MM81 to commemorate the hundreds killed.

A1A Watersports & Boat Rentals (Waverunner Tour)

A1A Watersports offers a great 26-mile two hour tour on a top-notch waverunner to see the Islamorada & Matecumbe Key area from a different vantage point - the water. Included in the tour is 20 minutes of snorkeling, a stop to party at the sandbar then into the backcountry and through the mangrove tunnels where you will see dolphin, tarpon, stingrays and turtles. It will be one of the most fun two hours you have spent on the water and well worth the money.
