What better way to celebrate Valentine’s Day than with a delicious chocolate fondue treat. Enjoy!
Chocolate Fondue with Cheesecake-Stuffed Strawberries
Cream Cheese Filling
- 1 4-oz pkg cream cheese, softened
- ¼ cup sugar
- ¼ teaspoon vanilla
- 1 large egg
- ½ cup sour cream
- 12-oz dark chocolate
- 8 oz heavy cream
- Pinch of salt
- 1-2 Tablespoons Grand Marnier, Amaretto or Kirsch
- Dippers – cheesecake-stuffed strawberries, bananas, apple pieces, orange slices, dried apricots, angel food or pound cake
Wash strawberries and pat dry with paper towel. Cut off the tops and scoop out some of the strawberry pulp. Leave approximately half of the strawberry inside. Set aside.
Cream Cheese Filling – Beat cream cheese until fluffy. Gradually beat in sugar then egg. Beat with mixer until smooth. Fold in sour cream and vanilla.
Pour mixture into round cake pan and bake in 375 degree oven for 20-30 minutes. Let cool. Stir before filling strawberries.
Using a spoon or pastry bag, fill strawberries with cream cheese mixture. Store in refrigerator until ready to serve.
Chocolate Fondue – Warm cream until bubbles show then add chocolate and salt and whisk until smooth. Take off heat and add Grand Marnier. Transfer to fondue pot over low flame.
Serve with cheesecake-stuffed strawberries and other dippers.
