Bahia Honda State Park Campgrounds

For those that want to see the keys and love to camp, Bahia Honda State Park offers a well-maintained and clean area to set up your tent, park your RV or rent one of the cabins. This place is so popular that reservations must be made at least a year in advance. In the park you will find 3 campground areas. The bayside loop is the smallest and is set on natural beaches near sea grass beds. There is no electricity and is closer to the higher so tends to be a bit noisier. There is only a small restroom with electricity available. Buttonwood campground, offering all gravel sites with nearby restrooms with hot showers, is larger and is great for large RVs to tents with some waters sites available. The larger sites have electricity, water, picnic tables and grills. Sandspur, located in the hardwood hammock, has smaller sites good for tents and pop-ups with only #57-#72 having electricity and all with access to bathrooms with hot showers. Some waterfront sites available. Two-bedroom cabins, barebones but clean and quiet, are also available and located on deep water where sea turtles and tarpon can be seen. Fish from the docks or launch kayaks right off your campsite. The trip to the beach is about a ten minute walk from this area. If you are coming on your boat, there are 19 slips for rent in the marina for boats with electricity available. Tip: If staying on the gravel sites bring landscapers spikes as tent stakes will likely break. Opt for Eastside camping if you want to be right next to the water.
